New Home Site Evaluation

You should always have a builder come to your home
site BEFORE you buy the site. Get advice from someone
that can help you evaluate the site, the terrain and the
home you desire to build.

Please know that we would be happy to come to your building
site (or potential building site). Any builder should be happy
to do this for you. AT NO COST!

What is important information when building

1. Corner stakes/Lot lines - Know what you are buying.
2. What easements exist on the property
3. Setback requirements for your home - See municipality and deed restrictions
4. Well & Septic vs. City sewer and water
5. If Septic, ALWAYS get an evaluation from the health department.
6. If Septic, ALWAYS get an estimate for the cost to install the septic system
7. Soil Conditions - what kind of soil is 1' to 5' underground and 8' underground - It will impact the septic system and whether or not soils will have to be hauled in or out for footings and drainage and more
8. Utilities available
9. How will the home be positioned on the lot
10. Will trees have to be cleared.
11. Zoning around the site

There are many items to consider. None of them difficult, but some will have a greater impact then others.

Let a builder help you decide the "buildability" of a site. Call us.  We are in the Grand Rapids, MI area and build in many different communities - Lowell, MI, Ada, MI, Norton Shores, MI, Rockford, MI, Hudsonville, MI and many other Michigan cities around Grand Rapids.  West Michigan is a great place to live (and build)!

If you came to our site from a place other than our website, please visit us at www.heartlandbuilders.com

Thank you.
