We are located in the Grand Rapids MI area.
Our passion is home building and we have
created this blog in order to share our
belief that building a home is a great experience.

Oh sure, your aunt had a friend who had a cousin whose brother had a bad experience when they built their home. We are here to tell you that building a home is a great experience. Hence, the name "Great Ideas When Building a Home".

Our goal is to post information to this site that is useful to those interested in building a home.

In the spirit of full disclosure you should know that we do not throw up houses "fast and cheap." While we do build our homes under a strict schedule we take pride in the quality of our homes.

There are two absolutes in this business from our standpoint:

1. Every home will be built in consideration of universal design principles;

2. Every home we build is CERTIFIED in compliance with Energy Star requirements and the more stringent standards of Green Built Michigan. Note - we capitalized the word certified because every home we build is inspected and certified by an approved EPA Energy Star/Green Built Michigan auditor to demonstrate our commitment to our customers.
